Pink Flamingo

To conclude the sports program on Saturday, November 9th, we have the fabulous Pink Flamingo.

A burst of art, drag, and performance, this is a show not to be missed!

WHAT IS THE PINK FLAMINGO?

A fabulous fusion of acting, sketches, drag, and dance both in and out of the water, The Pink Flamingo is a joyful embodiment of the proud spirit that IGLA represents. Teams compete against each other in choreographed routines set to music.

The Pink Flamingo has a long history in IGLA Championships, dating back to the early Gay Games in 1982. Evolving from subversive cross-dressing and playful relay into a full-fledged performance, it is now the essential closing event of every IGLA. It has been a source of fun, notoriety, photographs, and pride ever since.

As Buenos Aires lights up with the colors of the rainbow during Pride Week and the Pride March BA, let’s come together to celebrate our progress while acknowledging the hard work that still lies ahead. The IGLA Pink Flamingo is a reminder of the vitality, creativity, and humor of our community and the importance of using our power to promote equality and inclusion for all members of the LGBTQ+ community.

We call on teams from around the world to join us in performing a fabulous choreographed routine with music, both in and out of the water, highlighting the strength, resilience, and the need for our collective fight for equality to continue.

So be bold, make some noise, and feel proud because Buenos Aires is calling to the world!
