ABOUT US

The IGLA+ (International Group of LGBTQIA+ Aquatics) Championships are heading to South America for the first time for a week of entertainment, community, and unforgettable sporting moments.

What are the IGLA+ Championships?

IGLA 2023 – London

The IGLA+ Championships are the annual LGBTQIA+ aquatic world championship held worldwide. Fist held in 1987, the championships aim to create a safe and inclusive environment for LGBTQIA+ athletes and allies to participate in aquatic sports and foster a sense of community through a love for water.

Participants compete in 5 disciplines regulated by World Aquatics: swimming, waterpolo, diving, open water, and artistic swimming, as well as the distinctive IGLA+ event, Pink Flamingo.

The IGLA+ championship is a friendly and welcoming environment for all master athletes. In addition to the sports program, various social and community events are held for athletes, coaches, and volunteers throughout the championships.
